Project Corpo

"Project Corpo" is a comedic stealth game developed in Unreal Engine 5 as part of the Game 480 - Game Development Final. The game was created in collaboration with two other students, focusing on the core gameplay feature of stealth, with a goal of offering an engaging experience that was both functional and largely bug-free. The project took approximately three months to complete and has been built to run standalone. As the primary contributor to the game’s visual design, I was responsible for creating 149 custom assets, including 117 3D models, 17 pieces of 2D art, and 15 animations. These assets were made using a variety of tools: Blender for modeling, Substance Painter for texturing, and Unreal Engine 5 for integration. Additionally, I used Illustrator and Photoshop for 2D artwork and Audacity for sound design. Throughout the project, I learned a great deal about topology and creating assets tailored to specific requests from team members in a timely manner. This experience also deepened my understanding of asset optimization, including techniques for reducing file sizes and crafting textures that balanced quality with importance and scale. The game features a lone human protagonist, Carl, navigating a robot-controlled facility using stealth, gadgets, and various abilities to avoid or disable robotic enemies. I was heavily involved in developing key levels, including the "Organic Research" area, as well as designing player movement mechanics and animation systems to ensure smooth gameplay. The result is a stealth-focused game that blends strategic planning with action-packed gameplay, offering players a mix of tactical elimination, avoidance, and exploration through a high-tech, robot-run facility. This project allowed me to refine my skills in game design, modeling, and animation, while also improving my ability to collaborate effectively and meet production goals.
